Do I Need an Inspection To Renew My Tags in Wyoming?
No. Wyoming does not require safety inspections or emissions testing for vehicle tag renewal. The state has no periodic inspection program for passenger vehicles, and drivers may renew vehicle registration without submitting proof of any safety or emissions inspection.
Wyoming requires annual vehicle registration and issues validation stickers that must be placed in the upper left corner of the license plate. These stickers display the expiration month of the registration. License plates themselves are redesigned and replaced on an eight-year cycle. License plates must be conspicuously displayed, securely fastened in a horizontal position at least 12 inches above the ground, and maintained free of debris to remain plainly visible.
